My parents are Karen and Eldon Maronda, who are farmers from the Lomond area, located about an hour north of Lethbridge. They have been married since 1974, and waited 7 years to have kids. My identical twin sister, Kirby, and I were born 7 weeks premature in spring of 1981, each weighing over 3 pounds. What lucky girls we are to always have each other. To this day I can still say its the best thing that's ever happened to me. I have a built-in best friend that wants to help me in any way that she can. The bonus is that Kirby used to do the same job as I am doing now, which means she knows the ins and outs and is able to help me professionally. It did however confuse people into thinking that she was in two places at once when she worked two doors down from my show home. There was lots of laughs when I finally explained to them that there is actually two of us. I also have another sister, Brett, who is 5 1/2 years younger than us. She is the HR Manager for an engineering company in Calgary. We are proud to be her big sisters even though she is 5 inches taller than us. The three of us girls have fantastic parents that encouraged and taught us that we can do anything we wanted as long as we worked hard and put our minds to it.
We usually plan a trip to Arizona every Thanksgiving! Not only just to spend time with family, but to get our shopping fix in for the year...we love to get a good deal! One of my favorite sayings after getting a good deal is ... "Start the car!" So if there is a TJ Max's or Dillard's clearance near by... look out! I enjoy paddle boarding with my family, and being able to squeeze in as much family time in before headed back home!
